Good News for the Lobo! The Mexican Gray Wolf Could Get Stronger Protections

Conservation groups are celebrating the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's decision to review the status of the Mexican gray wolf to determine if it should be listed as an endangered species separate from other North American gray wolves! This could mean stronger protections for the critically endangered lobo.

Thanks for helping to raise awareness about the Mexican Gray Wolf. This magnificent animal is teetering on the edge of survival in the wild, and the more people understand how dire their plight is (and can help hold agencies accountable for their recovery) the better!

Would love to see an article on Wolf Conservation Center's blog about the use of specialized government tracking equipment by private individuals. It's scary to have members of the public--some of whom are stated opponents of wolf recovery--able to track the wolves movement.
